ActionActivity Chela-Ferr™ Med is a product with a high content (30 mg elemental iron) of the best-absorbable iron in the form of amino acid chelate (iron diglycinate) - Ferrochel®, intended for use in situations of high demand for iron.
What is Ferrochel®? Ferrochel® is a patented form of non-haem iron in the form of amino acid chelate - ferrous (II) diglycinate, with bioavailability and tolerance similar to heme iron. In ferrous diglycinate the ferrous ion (Fe2+) has been combined with two molecules of amino acid - glycine. Its main advantage is a significant increase in bioavailability with a simultaneous reduction in gastric irritation, as well as the absence of undesirable interactions with other food components. Thanks to its chemical structure, ferrous diglycinate is recognized by the body as a dipeptide and is actively absorbed in other parts of the digestive tract, eliminating the effect of interactions with other minerals (given in inorganic form) or food components in the digestive tract. Safety of Ferrochel®: Ferrochel® - the amino acid iron chelate by ALBION® has received the Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) certificate from the FDA (American Department of Health). The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has recognized Ferrochel® as safe and bioavailable and included it in the list of substances permitted in foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and in dietary supplements on the basis of the positive opinion of the Scientific Panel of the European Commission. Ferrochel® has also been granted the American Chemical Society CAS registration number - granted only to molecules having precisely defined and reproducible structure, which must be confirmed by the results of laboratory analyses (TRAACS® FTIR): Vegetarian, Kosher-Parve and GMO-Free.
How does Chela-Ferr™ Med work? The assimilability of minerals, in the form of inorganic compounds, in the small intestine is low because the mineral ion charge, the pH of the gastrointestinal environment, the limited surface area of intestinal absorption, and the presence of other components interacting with the ions of administered minerals significantly reduces their intestinal absorption. In addition, the process of natural chelation, necessary for the assimilation of mineral ions, is prolonged in time, thus inefficient, taking into account the fact of continuous movement of food content to further sections of the digestive system, and thus the minerals contained in the food content. Iron contained in Chela-Ferr™ Med occurs in the form of bound with an amino acid, resulting in a chelate complex, is recognized by the body as a dipeptide and is actively absorbed into the body fluids in the jejunum and ileum. The mineral is thus "smuggled" into the blood within the structure formed by two glycines, being completely separated from possible adverse interactions with other food components, including micronutrients in ionic form. Which iron preparations are most effectively utilized by the body? Iron is generally a poorly absorbable component, hence in the process of supplementation, iron forms with the highest degree of bioavailability should be used. Currently, the most effective type of supplement is iron in the form of amino acid chelate Albion®, whose bioavailability is many times higher than that of typical iron preparations. Iron contained in Chela-Ferr™ Med is: - amino acid chelate with a structure scientifically proven by the patented FTIR TRAACS® method, - highest bioavailability compared to other forms of iron, - safe action, - better tolerability, reduced side effects, - no interaction with vitamins and minerals, which has been confirmed in long-term clinical trials. Also has - GRAS certificate (Generally Recognized as Safe) granted by FDA - positive opinion of EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) What effects can iron deficiency have in the body? Iron is primarily needed for the production of red blood cells. Deficiency of this element in the human system makes itself known very quickly. Characteristic symptoms include physical weakness, sleep disturbances, reduced intellectual and mental performance, decreased immunity. Women of childbearing age, pregnant women, teenagers, and the elderly most often struggle with the problem of iron deficiency. Chela-Ferr™ Med is intended for dietary management with medical indications for use in: - a period of increased demand for iron: pregnancy and lactation, heavy menstrual bleeding, regular blood donation, intensive sports activities, children and adolescents during periods of intensive growth iron deficiency caused by lack of appetite, vegetarian, weight-loss and macrobiotic diets, - chemotherapy and perioperative period, - tired legs syndrome (RLS), - attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Dosage 1 capsule per day (suggested serving) swallow after a meal with plenty of water, or add the contents of the capsule to food or dissolve in water or juice and drink. In individual cases doctor may recommend other dose of the preparation. Additional information Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily allowance. Keep out of reach of young children.
